Stephen Benson, Author

Stephen Benson is an educational consultant who formerly served as an assistant superintendent in Western Pennsylvania and then was appointed superintendent of a rural central Pennsylvania district. He began his career as a jazz musician, became a high school music educator and then an ISO 9001 Quality Systems Certified Lead Auditor analyzing, auditing, and writing district policies, procedures, and practices. Collectively, these experiences had much to do with his approach to district leadership. Benson earned his doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, his master’s degree from the University of Miami, and a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music.
