Marquitta T. Speller, Author

Marquitta T. Speller is currently the executive director for secondary and collegiate programs at the Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ). Beginning in 2009, she served as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and, shortly after, became the principal of HCZ’s Promise Academy High School. In her current position, she oversees the Promise Academy High Schools, HCZ’s College Success Office, and Career Services Team. Speller is also an adjunct professor at the College of Staten Island, and she teaches in the Penn Literacy Network. She received her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a master’s degree and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester.
